Our journey and challenges to B Corp Recertification March 2025!

Renewing our commitment to a better business model.

Our journey continues

We’re pleased to share that we have successfully completed the recertification process as a B Corp as of March 2025!

Data is still a challenge

This journey was a significant undertaking, especially for a small team like ours.  Having been through the process before, we still faced several challenges, including gathering feedback and data to support our B Impact Assessment.

We also encountered some questions in interpreting some of the B Impact Assessment indicators because often the assessment caters to a variety of businesses and organisation types.

Evidence-based verification

Almost all the questions require detailed metrics such as environmental impact, governance and business practices or specific factors, ensuring that all claims were backed by documentation and evidence was crucial.  B Lab requires verification of our social and environmental performance and they are serious about that!

At times, we found it challenging to navigate the nuances of these questions, but we worked continuously to provide as accurate and comprehensive responses as we had.

Our continuous improvement

Throughout this process, the B Impact Assessment strives to evaluate and improve our impact across governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.

Whilst we’re relieved to have successfully renewed our certification, we recognise that there’s always room for improvement.  We managed to improve our score this time round, including by being more intentional in getting feedback (from customers, collaborators, stakeholders) where possible.  This is still one of the most challenging aspects for us but it is one of the most crucial for us. You can see our new breakdown scores on the B Corp site here.

A beacon for systemic change and systemic value creation

We’re committed to continuing our efforts through B Corp and beyond to drive systemic change through business practices that prioritise both people and the planet. Our hope is to inspire organisations of all sizes and types to start on this important journey.

Thank you for all the continued support we’ve received since we embarked on this journey.
